Boys Bedroom Mood Board: A Traditional Equestrian Bedroom
If you’re looking to design a boys bedroom with traditional details and an equestrian themed flair, this traditional equestrian bedroom mood board is a favorite!
From classic navy touches to pops of brass, and of course sophisticated horse decor, this room will hopefully spark some ideas for your own boys bedroom! (Everything will be linked below!)

Why You’ll Love This Equestrian Bedroom Design
First, let’s chat a bit about this favorite boys bedroom mood board, and at the end of this post I’ll list all of the sources so you can shop the room!
This boys bedroom has so much character and charm! Classic design touches, a mix of both high and low finds… it’s a timeless design with plays on pattern and texture that work well for any age.

When designing boys bedrooms, I love to lean into that classic combination of rich navy and green. This striped green wallpaper is an affordable find (which also comes in a peel and stick wallpaper option!)- it’s such a timeless look and a lovely shade of green. Yes, wallpaper can be very expensive, but you can often find a similar, more affordable wallpaper option (especially if it is something classic like stripes), if you do a little digging!

I chose Benjamin Moore Old Navy as the perfect rich navy trim color. It’s a favorite dark blue paint color (** Be sure to check out the top interior designer favorite dark blue paint colors HERE!), and it pairs beautifully with the rich navy bedding and pillows.
Brass and green, as well as brass and navy, are some of my favorite combinations for a boys bedroom. I love that English influence mixed with a Ralph Lauren vibe, because it lends a sophistication that ages well, but can also be perfect for a younger boys room too.
To soften the space, I added neutral colors and textures- a natural sisal rug (I’ve added a favorite affordable one linked below!), a pair of neutral pillows, and a neutral linen bed with gorgeous English oak wood legs.
The gorgeous rattan antiqued nightstand ties the shared space together as a grounding element, with a fun added detail of the vintage brass and navy eagle bookend on top.
The lighting for this space is beautiful- I used the same flush mount as seen in this stunning English Sitting Room (see the full room tour HERE!), and I love the navy leather and brass detail on these wall sconces (the perfect equestrian style touch), and the navy leather trimmed shades are the perfect match the linen bed and navy quilt and euro pillows.
Let’s talk about this artwork! Gorgeous, timeless, equestrian art prints framed in stunning brass frames are the perfect touch for an equestrian boys bedroom design. These 2 finds are favorites- I love how they’re slightly different, and pair beautifully together.
And… this PILLOW! I’ve been asked so many times about this pillow (as seen in my popular Perfect Pillow Combinations post), and it’s a favorite pattern (Fox Hunt) by Jordan Connelly. I love that pretty pop of green, the equestrian detail and charm, and it really ties the whole room together.
