The Most Beautiful Floral Wall Sconces (And Flower Lighting Ideas)
Decorating with floral wall sconces is such a beautiful way to add a bit of garden inspired whimsy in your home! Interior designers love floral sconces for their delicate appeal, botanical touch, and gorgeous visual interest.

If you love flowers, adding floral wallpaper, fresh (or faux) flowers, or floral artwork throughout the home is usually the first thing you might think of when decorating your living space. However, don’t forget about lighting! There are actually many gorgeous floral bedside lamps, floor lamps, table lamps, pendant lights, and of course, sconces that sport a flower lighting flair.
Let’s take a look at some interior designer favorite floral wall sconces, and of course, some flower sconce design inspiration!
Why You’ll Love Floral Wall Sconces
If you’re looking for a way to incorporate some nature-inspired beauty into your home, or if you’re looking for the perfect flower lighting to bookend a gorgeous mirror, definitely consider using floral sconces!

These unique light fixtures are essentially sculptural works of art that can transform any living space with a soft, inviting glow and a delicate botanical look, offering the prettiest visual interest. Whether crafted from polished brass, delicate porcelain, or colorful glass, floral motif wall sconces serve as both a sophisticated design element and a charming focal point. Floral wall sconces serve as functional lighting and decorative works of art.
These are some reasons to consider using flower sconces:
- If you love flowers!
- If you love floral decor or garden-inspired details
- If you want to add a delicate, whimsical touch, with visual interest
- If you want something a bit “different” than traditional wall lamps / sconces with shades (or you want a floral shade!)
Where To Use Floral Sconces
Wall sconces are one of my absolute favorite decor items to incorporate into a space. There is something about adding sconces that feels intentional, and truly brings the room together- it’s always in the details! A favorite place to use floral sconces are on both sides of a fabulous mirror, especially in a powder room or bathroom.
But there are many places in the home where floral sconces would look lovely. Here are a few:
Bathroom and Powder Room
The most common (and favorite) place to add gorgeous floral wall sconces are in the bathroom and powder room. As mentioned previously, using floral sconces on both sides of a fabulous mirror can truly make a bathroom or powder room shine! It’s magical how adding the right sconces can complete a mirror in this space.
Sconce lighting tends to be softer than overhead lighting, so adding sconces in the bathroom or powder room is preferred for doing makeup or getting ready to start your day (and who wouldn’t want to look at pretty flower light fixtures while getting ready?!)

And adding floral shades to bathroom sconces is a fabulous way to incorporate that floral design detail!
Dining Room or Breakfast Nook
While you might think of a big beautiful chandelier above a dining table as one of the main go-to lighting solutions for dining rooms, don’t overlook the intimate look of wall sconces. Floral wall sconces look lovely places throughout an intimate space such as a dining room. Think of adding a stunning wallpaper, an antique buffet, a gorgeous piece of artwork above the buffet, and floral wall sconces on both sides of the artwork- and there you have a showstopper space that feels intentional, warm, and cozy.
Home Office
The home office is a fabulous place to add flower wall sconces. While you might think of picture lights as a go-to choice of lighting above built-in bookshelves, wall sconces look fabulous next to bookshelves as well. Consider having sconces above a small sofa in a study or home office, that has artwork styled above, and the wall sconces “bookend” the artwork on both sides. The same goes for styling above a desk! While you might think of using a table lamp at your home office desk, instead (or in addition), consider a piece of art above the desk, with wall sconces to complete the space and add some pretty lighting to the walls.
Entryway, Hallway & Stairwell
Sconces look lovely above an entryway console, on hallway walls or even up the stairwell. (Or any area of the home that has accent walls, too!).
Living Room
While you might think of pretty lamps or overhead lighting in a living room, sconces can really make the living rom feel intentional and cozy. Consider using sconces in whites or brass tones for a fresh coastal or traditional look, and consider skipping the matte black sconce lighting inside (keep that for outdoor lights- we love our lantern style black glass sconces for our home’s exterior, but tend to shy away from using black sconces typically).
Bedroom
Sconces in the bedroom are always a lovely addition, as they add a soft, intimate feel for bedroom walls. They look beautiful above each nightstand on both sides of the bed, above a pretty dresser, on both sides of the closet, near bedroom windows, or even in the entryway of the bedroom. Wouldn’t you love to see some pretty floral sconces as you enter your bedroom?!

Wall Sconce Tips and Tricks
For renters or anyone unable to hardwire sconces, consider using a plug-in wall sconce, which offers the style without the electrical commitment! To completely eliminate visible cords and the need for an electrician, a trending trick is to use battery-operated light bulbs or smart light bulbs that are controlled by a small remote. This allows you to place the sconce anywhere on the wall, which will give you the high-end sconce look and the appearance of it being professionally wired.
If you prefer a more traditionally shaped sconce, consider using a gorgeous floral shade on your sconces!
